What is Coronavirus ?
Coronaviruses are types
of viruses that typically affect the respiratory tract of mammals,
including humans. They are associated with the common cold,
pneumonia, and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and can also affect the
gut.
Coronavirus cross infection?
Coronaviruses "primarily spread through close
contact with another individual, in particular through coughing and sneezing on
somebody else who is within a range of about 3 to 6 feet from that person.
Touching
or shaking hands with a person that has the virus can pass the virus from one person to another. Making
contact with feces or a surface or object that has the virus and then
touching your nose, eyes, or mouth.
There is also big potential for transmission
of virus by infected food handlers; therefore, food production area
should optimize and standardize laboratory-based surveillance to detect any
possible infection at an early stage.
Hygiene managers
should take into consideration the role of viruses as foodborne pathogens in
the development of HACCP plans.
